Visit to the University of Oklahoma (USA) to strengthen collaboration

For three days, May 1-3, Prof. Dr. Johanna Kremer Hovinga visited the University of Oklahoma, USA. Prof. James George (fourth from the right on photo) and his Oklahoma colleagues, Drs. Sara Vesely (sixth from the right on photo) and Dee Terrell, have collaborated with Dr. Kremer, and her predecessor, Prof. Dr. Bernhard Lämmle, since 2001.

During her visit, the collaborators reviewed current data and planned for future projects. Johanna gave 3 seminars, each to a different audience. To the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, she discussed the structure, and function of the Hereditary TTP Registry. To the Department of Hematology and Oncology, she described her experience with patients enrolled in the Caplacizumab clinical trial. To Cardiovascular Research Division at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, she described her research on autoantibody development in patients with acquired, autoimmune TTP. Johanna’s visit strengthened the bond between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Bern
